Concrete Entry Steps & Walkway

Project Overview

A compact concrete entrance connects the front door of this light-sided home to the driveway and lawn. Two broad risers lead to a rectangular landing directly beneath the storm door, while a straight concrete approach continues toward the grass.

The entrance sits between a garage door and a front window. Its simple gray surfaces keep the approach visually distinct from the dark driveway and planted border without adding another color or ornamental pattern to the facade.

Analysis

The space beside the garage gives the entrance a clearly defined footprint. The upper landing follows the width of the doorway, and the steps carry that width toward the approach below.

Concrete, asphalt, lawn and soil meet along the edges of this small area. Those junctions, together with the door threshold, are the main visible details. The supplied view does not establish an earlier condition or the extent of any repair.

Process

This project record documents the entrance in its photographed condition. It brings the landing, step faces and walkway into one view, allowing their relationship to the doorway and driveway to be understood. Demolition, forming and placement stages were not supplied.

Outcome

The entrance presents a direct route from the driveway-side approach to the front door. Its broad horizontal surfaces and plain step faces create a restrained finish beside the garage, with the lawn and planting bed defining the outer edges.

Project Details

Materials Used

  • Gray concrete forms the landing, steps and short approach.
  • Dark asphalt borders the entrance beside the garage.
  • Light siding and white door trim frame the upper landing.

Methods & Techniques

The visible arrangement uses a solid rectangular landing above two straight step fronts. The lower approach meets the bottom step without a separate change in direction. No reinforcing, foundation detail or construction joints beneath the entrance are visible.

Key Highlights

  • Two straight step fronts connect the approach to the doorway landing.
  • The concrete footprint fits between the garage and planted border.
  • A single complete entrance view records the visible arrangement.
