Chimney

Paired Brick Chimneys on a Shingle Roof

Project Overview

Two red-brick chimneys rise above the same gray shingle roof, creating a repeated masonry accent along its profile. The nearer chimney dominates the foreground, while the second remains visible beyond the roof ridge. Their warm brick color stands out against both the roofing and the surrounding greenery.

The closer view records the chimney from its dark metal base through the brickwork to its projecting upper courses, pale crown and mesh-sided metal cap. It gives this small exterior feature a clear architectural presence.

Analysis

The near chimney changes character as it rises. Dark metal defines the roof junction, regular brick courses form the main body, and projecting courses create a wider top. The pale crown and cap provide a final contrast above the red masonry.

The farther chimney repeats the brick color and capped profile at a smaller scale within the view, linking the two elements across the roof.

Process

The documented exterior sequence begins at the shingle roof, continues through the dark base metal and brick body, and finishes at the projecting upper courses, crown and cap. The second chimney supplies a wider point of comparison within the same rooftop view.

Outcome

The two chimneys give the roof a repeated red-brick accent. On the nearer chimney, the contrasting base, projecting top and pale cap assembly make each part of its exterior profile distinct, while the farther chimney connects that detail to the wider roofline.

Project Details

Materials Used

Visible components include red brick, gray mortar joints, dark metal at the nearer chimney’s base, a pale crown and a metal cap with mesh sides. Gray roof shingles form the surrounding surface.

Methods & Techniques

Regular brick courses create the chimney’s main rectangular body. Upper courses project outward beneath the crown, giving the top a more pronounced outline. At roof level, the dark metal wraps the visible lower faces. Shingle rows and the roof ridge remain distinct alongside these masonry and metal details.

Key Highlights

Two red-brick chimneys within one rooftop view. Projecting upper courses beneath the nearer crown. A mesh-sided metal cap above the brickwork. Dark base metal contrasts with gray roof shingles.
